The Devil on Cruise Control

            I was praying on the last day of camp-meeting and the Lord spoke to me in a vision.  It seemed that He had been leading me up to this moment the whole week and the revelation I saw was startling.

            I had been praying about how the devil seems to be destroying the church and what I could do to help the Kingdom movement.  I pleaded to God for an answer; what can I do about my enemy destroying the church that I loved?  The Lord gave me a vision that is intended to bring Christians out of the deep sleep we have been lulled into.  The vision is as follows:

As I peered into the spiritual realm I saw what the devil was doing to the church in America…nothing.  He seemed to be on auto-pilot or cruise control.  The things he had accomplished in the past are causing an erosion of the institution we call church.

Why?  Then it occurred to me through the messages we had heard all week… basically, we are self destructing.  The spiritual house we are to build on the sure foundation of Christ was failing from a lack of spiritual maintenance.

The power the church needs to overcome the world and the deceit of satan, comes from the resources God has already provided in His word.  These power resources are being neglected and our enemy just sits back and relaxes as the church self-destructs.

The following are the three main issues that God revealed we are neglecting that will bring the demise of any church not willing to invest in the spiritual realm:

1.      Honor, reverence and the respect to God’s pre-eminence and sovereignty

2.      Prayer

3.      The power of the Holy Ghost

Upon reflection, I now realize the gravity of the situation we have gotten ourselves into.  I also have returned to a place in my soul that I have always known; if we return to our first love, He is faithful and just!  Mistakes have been made in the past but God can and will turn our mistakes around for our good and restore the years we have wasted if we are sincere.

Spiritual Fact:

John 4:24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Without the power of the Spirit of God, our churches are no more that social clubs run by the will and whim of man.  Man, by himself, is easily manipulated by our enemy, satan. 

The devil knows the power of spiritual manifestation.  We see it every day in physic hotlines, ouiji boards, palm and tarot card readers.  Hollywoods fascination with the occult and demonic invades our homes everyday through movies and prime time television shows.  Most of the church world denies God's Spiritual manifestations even though they are recorded in personal testimonies, church, and world history.

Many in the church world today do not believe in a supernatural God capable of piercing through the thin veil of our existence to change our circumstances through miracles, signs and wonders.  In fact, the word "supernatural" is almost treated as a buzz word for fanaticism.   

God is a Spirit and therefore everything He does is SUPERNATURAL!  If our worship does not reach the level of who He is, if our belief in Him is limited to the confines of our intellect, then how can we expect to move supernaturally in our lives and churches when we need Him too?
